PH calls on MACC to investigate a purported attempt of MPs ‘buying’

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) Presidential Council demanded the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to examine allegations that Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin attempted to purchase the support of seven MPs.
The PH presidential council stated that such an obvious attempt to “buy” support required strong action by the MACC, citing previous cases involving Opposition MPs.
The council said in a statement that if the MACC fails to do so, it simply validates claims that government agencies are being used as political weapons for the purpose of political survival of certain parties rather than defending the rule of law.
PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail alleged that attempts were being made to ‘buy’ five Opposition MPs to support the prime minister.
