Malaysian students in Ukraine are safe, according to the Ministry of Higher Education
As stated by the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia (KPT), a Malaysian student who is studying at the University of Lviv in Ukraine is currently in a secure state.
A statement from the Malaysian Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, said that the student was among the other Malaysians there and that they will be returned to the nation shortly after the announcement has been made.
Following the announcement made by the Russian President Vladimir Putin of a special military operation in the Donbas area of eastern Ukraine on Thursday (February 24), Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proclaimed a statewide state of emergency.
Ukraine has also stated that its airspace would be closed to the general public due to a “high danger” to civil aviation.
